Group Spiritual Direction Invitation Spring 2020

 

Group Spiritual Direction is an opportunity to explore and enhance our Spiritual journeys together in connection with the Divine Presence of the Holy Spirit.

Spiritual Direction is a unique opportunity for those who desire more of God, who want a deepened relationship with Him and a keener sense of His presence.

It is an informal process of prayer, contemplation and sharing led by a Spiritual Director that facilitates this work. 

It is not necessary to have specific questions or problems, just a desire for God, a keen interest to explore and a willingness to share.

 

Our group size of 4-6 will meet once a week on a day and time to be determined (usually in early afternoon for 90 minutes) in the Pastor’s study at the Federated Church in Sunrise Beach. (Time and date may be adjusted to meet the needs of the group).

The program will run for 12 weeks from the first week in Mar to the third week in May.  Participants will be selected on a first come, first served basis.

There will be no charge for the program.

Fred Butler will facilitate the group as Spiritual Director.

Fred completed the 12 month Spiritual Director Internship Program in July 1998 presented by the Center for Spiritual Growth and the Contemplative Life out of San Antonio and served on the Board of the Spiritual Directors Community in Austin until 2005 while practicing as a Spiritual Director. 

He has served as a Spiritual Director for students at the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary from 2013 to 2018 and facilitated groups at the Federated Church in 2018 and 2019.

Fred also holds an MS is Guidance and Counseling and an MA in International Relations.  He is a retired USAF full Colonel.
